Tongtong Donkkaseu (통통돈까스) is a Korean pork cutlet restaurant about 20 minutes by taxi from Incheon Airport Terminal 1, and it is the meal to pick when someone in your group will not eat spicy food. A cutlet, rice, soup, fries and salad arrive on one plate for 12,800 won. Check the whole trip against your remaining time after arrival procedures; five hours is not a guarantee.
This is not the Japanese tonkatsu you may already know. Korean gyeongyangsik donkkaseu is a flattened cutlet under a brown gravy, served Western-style on a single plate, and it is a genuinely different dish. Below: what it costs, how the ordering tablet works, and the timing that decides whether you should leave the airport at all.
How do you get there from Incheon Airport?
Before leaving, work backwards from your airline’s check-in and boarding deadlines. Allow for the return journey, security and departure immigration, plus any baggage errands and waits for transport or a table. The airport arrival and return guide keeps the shared planning assumptions in one place; the route and menu below describe this particular restaurant.
Take a taxi. Tongtong Donkkaseu is in Sky City (하늘도시), the newer residential district on Yeongjong Island, and there is no walkable train option the way there is for the 24-hour Chinese restaurant two minutes from Unseo Station.
| From | Taxi | Distance | Fare |
|---|---|---|---|
| Terminal 1 | about 20 min | 13.9 km | ₩14,200 |
| Terminal 2 | about 21 min | 19.5 km | ₩18,200 |
The address to show a driver or paste into a map app is 인천 영종구 자연대로 40 1동 2층 203호. Search Naver Map for 통통돈까스 영종도본점 rather than the English name; Korean map apps do not match romanised names. Google Maps cannot give you directions inside Korea, but it does have the restaurant — Tongtong Donkkaseu on Google Maps — so you can see where it sits before you get in the taxi.
How long does the round trip actually take?
The taxi ride is the short part. What decides this trip is the immigration queue on the way in, which you cannot speed up and cannot predict.
Stay inside on a layover under five hours. With more time, check the return journey and your airline’s deadlines before committing to the meal. If you are carrying checked bags, add the locker run — what luggage storage costs at Incheon and which counter you actually need is worth reading first, because the storage counters can eat the better part of an hour on a bad day. The full arrival-to-gate reasoning is in the honest time math on leaving Incheon Airport during a layover.
How do you order from the tablet?
Every table has a t’order tablet, and every dish on it has a photograph. That is the good news: you can order without speaking or reading a word, by tapping the picture of the thing you want.

What should you order?
The plain pork cutlet is the one to get. It came out thick, and the inside stayed moist rather than going dry and stringy the way a cheap cutlet does — of everything ordered that day it was the best thing on the table.

One dish is worth a warning. The snow cheese cutlet sounds like the stretchy melted-cheese version and is not — the cheese is grated over the top in a thick drift, and it stays powdery. It was the disappointment of the meal for exactly that reason. If stretchy cheese is what you are after, the whole-mozzarella cutlet is the one that does it.

Portions are large enough that two people ordering two mains could not finish them, and the leftovers went home in a takeaway box from the self-service counter. If you are eating alone, order one dish and nothing else. Cream soup arrives first, before the main plate, and kimchi, pickled radish and pickled daikon come as free side dishes — as everywhere in Korea, refills of those cost nothing.
What might catch you out?
It is on the second floor. The building is a commercial block full of after-school academies, but the sign on the second floor is large, so check the floor and you will not get lost.
The fish cutlet can have bones. The restaurant puts a notice about it on the tablet, aimed at parents. It applies to you too.
Opening hours move. Check on Naver Map on the day you plan to go. It is the map app Koreans actually use, it works in English, and it is the only one that reflects real Korean opening hours. Download it on the airport wifi before you leave.
The honest verdict
Go if you have five hours or more, you are travelling with someone who will not eat spicy Korean food, or you want a full sit-down meal with photo-based ordering. The dish photographs help you choose without reading the Korean names.
Skip it if your layover is under five hours or you do not have enough remaining time for the return journey. If pork cutlet is not what you want, Naengsamdo’s Korean barbecue is a different meal to consider on a sufficiently long visit—not a workaround for a short connection.
Frequently asked questions
Can you order at Tongtong Donkkaseu without speaking Korean?
Yes. Ordering is done on a tablet at your table and every dish has a photograph next to it, so you order by tapping pictures. You can get through the whole meal without saying a word to anyone.
Is Korean pork cutlet spicy?
The standard cutlet is not spicy at all — the sauce is a mild brown gravy closer to a Western demi-glace than to anything chilli-based. Only the spicy onion version, at 12,900 won, is hot. This is the reason to come here if heat is a problem for someone in your group.
How much is a taxi from Incheon Airport to Tongtong Donkkaseu?
About 14,200 won from Terminal 1 and about 18,200 won from Terminal 2, checked in August 2026. The two terminals take almost the same time, but Terminal 2 is around 5 km further, which is where the price gap comes from.
Can one person finish a whole portion?
It is a lot for one. The cutlet arrives with rice, fries and salad on the same plate, plus soup beforehand. Eating alone is completely normal in Korea and nobody will look twice, but order one dish rather than two.
Do I need cash?
No. Cards are accepted, as they are everywhere in Korea. There is no tipping in Korea and no service charge is added.
Updated 17 September 2026: layover advice revised to distinguish planning scenarios from a guaranteed return time. This guide recommends staying inside the airport on connections under five hours.
