Layover IslandNEAR ICN

About

I’m bborang, a Korean living on Yeongjong (영종도), the island where Incheon Airport is located. Layover Island is my English guide to eating and spending time near the airport.

Why focus on the island?

A traveller with a few hours between flights needs more than a list of good restaurants. You need to know how to get there, what to order, and how the trip fits around returning to your terminal. That is the question these guides start with.

I also write food and product reviews in Korean. Here, those visits are reorganised for travellers: Korean names to show a driver or paste into a map, photographed menus, prices from the visit, and the practical limits of a short stop.

What comes from a visit, and what comes from research?

The restaurant reviews draw on my visits and photographs. Practical airport and transport guides also use published information and route lookups. A researched listing is not the same as a personal visit; where I have not visited a place, the guide says so. Travel times are separated from planning allowances wherever the distinction matters.

How is the site funded?

Some visits are self-funded. Where a meal or discount was provided, that relationship should be disclosed at the top of the relevant review. The editorial policy explains the distinction. This site does not use affiliate booking links; it may carry display advertising.

Where should you start?

Use the layover time calculator alongside the guide to leaving the airport. Then choose a meal or a longer visit from the local food and island guides.
