The short answer: use a staffed storage counter in your own terminal, and include collection in your return plan. These counters are landside: an airside transfer passenger must be eligible to enter Korea to reach them. T1’s ZIMCARRY west 3F and B1 railroad store pages both list 24-hour suitcase rates of ₩5,000 / ₩8,000 / ₩10,000 by size, checked 5 October 2026. The older claim that B1 is more expensive no longer matches those pages.
Where can you store luggage in Terminal 1 and Terminal 2?
| Terminal | Operator | Where it is | Hours |
|---|---|---|---|
| T1 | ZIMCARRY · 짐캐리 (west) | 3F departures, just inside entrance door 13, near check-in counter N | 00:00–23:50, daily |
| T1 | ZIMCARRY · 짐캐리 (east) | 3F departures, just inside entrance door 2, near check-in counter B | Roughly 07:00–21:00 |
| T1 | ZIMCARRY · 짐캐리 (railroad) | B1, right of the AREX all-stop train ticket gates, set back from the concourse | 07:00–22:00 |
| T2 | Hanjin · 한진택배 | 3F west side, near public Exit 1 | 24 hours |
T1’s third-floor entrance doors are not boarding gates. The railroad counter is on B1 and the departure counters are on 3F: follow the lift or escalator signs through multiple levels, not a single floor up. Allow time to walk to the correct end of the hall.
The September sources disagreed on the east counter’s closing time, so plan around the earlier 21:00 listing. For the west counter, the operator currently publishes 00:00–23:50. Do not assume service during the remaining ten minutes; confirm collection arrangements with staff.
If you are staying airside on a transfer, reaching any of these means clearing immigration and entering Korea first. Do not leave the transfer route just to drop a bag unless you already meet the entry requirements. And if you landed at one terminal and your next flight leaves from the other, sort the bag out where you are — you cannot walk between T1 and T2, and the free shuttle bus takes about twenty minutes each way.
How much does ZIMCARRY cost in Terminal 1?
The west 3F and B1 railroad store pages currently show the following 24-hour tariff. Sizes use the longest side, so measure the case rather than relying on an inch-size label. Ask staff to confirm its category before paying.
| Item | Longest side | Price, up to 24 hours |
|---|---|---|
| Suitcase, cabin size | up to 55 cm | ₩5,000 |
| Suitcase, checked size | 56–70 cm | ₩8,000 |
| Suitcase, large | 71 cm and over | ₩10,000 |
| Bag or backpack, small | up to 45 cm | ₩3,000 |
| Bag or backpack, medium | 46–60 cm | ₩5,000 |
| Bag or backpack, large | 61 cm and over | ₩8,000 |
| Loose item, boxed or bundled | up to 40 cm | ₩2,000–₩3,000 |
| Golf travel bag | — | ₩5,000–₩10,000 |
| Winter coat | — | ₩3,000 for one, ₩10,000 for four |
The coat line is not a joke. If you are connecting from somewhere cold to somewhere warm in January, ₩3,000 to leave a parka behind for the day is the cheapest comfort you will buy in Korea.
B1 or 3F: choose by location and collection time
The B1 railroad store and west 3F store now publish the same 24-hour suitcase rates. A large case is listed at ₩10,000 at either counter. This replaces the September four-hour-plus-hourly comparison; the operator’s pages do not establish when the tariff changed.
B1 may suit a train outing during its 07:00–22:00 hours; west 3F may suit a later collection before its published closing time. Price alone no longer makes B1 the worse choice. Confirm your collection time before leaving the bag.
How much does Hanjin baggage storage cost in Terminal 2?
| Hanjin storage period | Published price |
|---|---|
| Up to 4 hours, total dimensions up to 180 cm | ₩5,000 |
| Up to 24 hours, S / M / L | ₩5,000 / ₩6,000 / ₩7,000 |
| Up to 24 hours, XL / XXL | ₩10,000 / ₩12,000 |
| Up to 24 hours, total dimensions over 180 cm | ₩20,000 |
Hanjin’s recorded daily categories and ZIMCARRY’s longest-side categories are not directly interchangeable: staff must classify your actual bag. The Hanjin figures above remain a 9 September snapshot, not an October price check. Do not cross terminals solely to chase a nominal price difference.
How it actually works at the counter
There is no online booking. ZIMCARRY’s own site says the reservation service is still in preparation, so anything you read about booking a slot in advance is out of date. You walk up, fill in a tag, staff size the bag, you pay before you leave it, and you get a paper receipt. If you lose the receipt they will identify you by name and phone number instead.
Payment is taken up front and there are no refunds once it has been taken, however early you come back. Maximum storage is seven days. If you miss closing time, the bag is still there tomorrow but it costs more. And the operator warns that weekends, public holidays and the January–February and July–August peaks can mean an early close — confirm collection arrangements directly, including at the west counter; a published late closing time does not guarantee uninterrupted service.
Do you need storage at all if your bags are checked through?
Ask at your first check-in: “Do I collect this bag at Incheon, or is it checked to my final destination?” Go by the airline’s answer and the bag tag, not by whether the tickets are on one booking. If the bag stays checked through, you do not need to pull it off the belt just to go out for a meal, and you should not.
For a day bag, carrying it is usually simpler than two trips to a counter. For a suitcase, treat drop-off and collection as two separate stops in your plan, and keep your passport and onward documents on you rather than in the stored bag.
How much time should you allow?
There is no reliable published service time for these counters — queueing, the walk across the hall and baggage reclaim are three separate delays and none of them are promised. The layover calculator uses planning allowances for exactly that reason. Put collection into your return plan and check it against your airline’s check-in and boarding deadlines, not against the time you think the counter will take.
If the outing only works on the assumption of an empty counter and instant collection, eat inside the airport instead. Once the bag is sorted, the easiest trip out is a six-hour meal run to Unseo, and T-money versus single-journey tickets covers the fare side.
Common questions
Is overnight storage available at Terminal 2?
Yes. Hanjin’s third-floor counter near public Exit 1 is listed as open 24 hours. You do not need to move to T1 just because you land at T2 overnight.
Are there coin lockers at Incheon Airport?
We have not been able to confirm a currently operating self-service locker bank in either terminal, so this guide does not give locker prices or locations. Everything above is a staffed counter. If you find lockers on the day, treat any price you have read elsewhere as unverified.
Are baggage storage and left luggage the same thing?
Both mean leaving a bag for later collection. At the airport, look for the operator names 짐캐리 and 한진택배, or ask an information desk for 수하물 보관.
Will a 28-inch case be refused?
ZIMCARRY lists a category for a longest side of 71 cm or more, but an inch-size label alone does not establish acceptance, capacity or the final charge. Confirm unusually large or heavy items with the counter.
Source update, 5 October 2026: rechecked T1 west 3F and B1 on the linked ZIMCARRY pages, corrected the B1-to-3F directions and replaced the stale hourly comparison. Hanjin prices retain their 9 September date; east-counter details retain their September source date. This is a desk check, not a new counter visit.
Correction, 9 September 2026: earlier versions gave unverified locker locations and a universal size limit, omitted T2’s 24-hour staffed option, and described storage as daily-only. Those claims were replaced with named counters and the operators’ tariffs.
