The short answer: choose food at Incheon Airport by terminal, side of security and the hour you will eat. A restaurant in the public arrivals hall is not an airside transfer option. Start with the matching table below; the operating-hour snapshot was collected on September 14, 2026, so confirm a specific outlet before relying on it overnight.
Staying airside? Match your departing terminal and permitted transfer route before picking a restaurant. Already entering Korea? The public-area tables may suit you, but include the return through departure formalities. Eating overnight? Confirm that individual outlet’s hours before walking across the terminal. For a terminal change, use the airside-versus-landside route guide.
Jump to: overnight food after security · overnight food before security. Within each table, use only your own terminal or Concourse rows.
If it is the middle of the night, the split is lopsided and worth knowing before you land. Past security in Terminal 2 there are ten places open around the clock, and three of them are proper Korean restaurants. Past security in Terminal 1 there are four, and they are a Starbucks, a Tous les Jours, a Lotteria and a KFC.
What time does food close at Incheon Airport?
22:00, for almost all of it. Of the food and drink outlets in the airport’s own facility directory, 124 out of 176 list exactly 06:00 to 22:00 — not approximately, not mostly, the identical string. That describes the collected directory entries, not a guarantee of today’s opening hours or an explanation of why an operator chose them.
So the practical shape of a day here is: if you land at 23:30, you have missed dinner everywhere except a short list. If you are departing at 07:00, breakfast exists but only just. And if your connection sits entirely between 22:00 and 06:00, plan for it rather than discovering it.
What is open in the middle of the night?
The directory marks 32 food outlets as open 00:00 to 24:00. Here they are, sorted by the only thing that matters — whether the outlet is on your permitted airside route or in the public area.

Read those two lists next to each other and the asymmetry is obvious. Landside at 3am you are choosing between burgers and coffee, with two Korean exceptions in Terminal 1. Airside in Terminal 2 at 3am you can sit down to gomtang. That is the reverse of what most people assume, and it is the single most useful thing on this page.
If the night is the whole problem rather than one meal in it, the overnight guide covers what is actually open at night and how the last train changes your options.
Is there real Korean food past security?
Yes, and more of it than the English-language advice suggests. The airside restaurant floors are not a food court of international chains with a token bibimbap. In Terminal 2 the fourth floor near gates 227, 249 and 274 is largely Korean: jjigae, gomtang, bibimbap, pork cutlet. In Terminal 1 the fourth floor near gate 30 has Nadeuri Hoegwan 나드리회관 doing kimchi jjigae, doenjang jjigae and bulgogi, and Gyeongseong Bunsik 경성분식 doing tteokbokki in a stone pot; the third floor near gate 31 has Hwangsaengga Kalguksu 황생가칼국수 with sagol kalguksu and mandu.
The catch is the hours again. Almost all of those are 06:00 to 22:00. The Korean food that survives the night is in Terminal 2 and the Concourse, not Terminal 1. For a T1 overnight transfer, the recorded all-night list is narrower; check the table rather than assuming the daytime Korean restaurants stay open.
What is the Concourse, and why does it matter for food?
Incheon has a third building. Gates numbered in the 100s are not in Terminal 1 at all — they are in the Concourse, 탑승동, a separate satellite you reach by shuttle train after you clear security. The airport’s own transfer pages put it inside the duty-free zone, and one of its outlets is filed with the 면세지역 marker to match.
This matters because it is the part travellers most often get wrong. If your boarding pass says gate 114, you cannot browse the Terminal 1 airside restaurants and then stroll to your gate — you have a train ride in between, and you should do the eating on the side you intend to end up. The Concourse has its own cluster around gates 114 and 122, including two Korean restaurants that run all night.
Follow the airport’s transfer instructions for your booked onward flight. Transfer routes can be one-way and include security screening; they are not a restaurant-hopping shuttle.
Does Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 have better food?
Terminal 2 has more of it — 89 listings against 70 — and it has the better overnight coverage by a wide margin. But this is a fact to know, not a decision to make, because you do not get to choose. You can’t walk between the two terminals; the free shuttle bus takes about twenty minutes each way, and eligible connecting passengers have separate airside transfer procedures. Those procedures do not make another terminal freely accessible for a meal.
So the only version of this question worth answering is the one about your own building, at your own hour. Check your terminal, check whether you are past security, then read the relevant table above.
The basement is the part nobody tells you about
Both terminals have a food floor in the basement, at the transport centre, with landside dining options. It is landside, so it is out of reach if you are staying airside — but if you have come through immigration, it is directly on your way to the trains and buses and you will walk past it whether you notice or not.
Terminal 1’s basement has Burger King, Taco Bell, a Vietnamese pho counter, Namsan Wang Donkkaseu 남산왕돈까스 for pork cutlet, Urigakimchi 우리가김치 for black-pork kimchi jjigae, and Hansik Sodamgil 한식소담길 for sundubu and yukgaejang. Terminal 2’s has Gajok Hoegwan 가족회관 with Jeonju bibimbap and kongnamul gukbap, Hanokjip Kimchijjim 한옥집김치찜, Yeongju Dubu Maeul 영주두부마을 for sundubu and cheonggukjang, and Saboten 사보텐. All 06:00 to 22:00, except the Terminal 2 Starbucks which runs all night.
It is the same floor as the rest of the landside shopping, so this is also where both Olive Young stores sit, in the basement and shut at 22:00. If you are wheeling a case around down there, drop it first — ZIMCARRY in Terminal 1 charges ₩5,000 for a cabin case and ₩10,000 for a large one per day.
Should you eat in the airport at all?
If you are staying airside, the question does not arise — the tables above are your world, and Terminal 2 treats you better than Terminal 1 does.
If you are clearing immigration, it changes. The airport sits on an island with a town on it, and Unseo is two stops from Terminal 1 on the all-stop train, with a recorded ride time of eight minutes. Whether that is a good idea depends entirely on your numbers, and the honest time math for leaving Incheon on a layover is the thing to settle first. If it clears, a real soup restaurant two stops from Terminal 1 is the shortest version of the trip, a Korean soup house 21 minutes out opens at 6am if you have landed early, and Bobae Banjeom in Unseo serves noodles around the clock if you want an outside meal at night and have enough time for the round trip.
What we will not do is tell you the food inside is bad. It is ordinary airport food at ordinary airport prices, with a better Korean selection than most airports manage, and if your connection is short it is the right answer.
Common questions
What time does food open at Incheon Airport?
06:00 for the large majority. A handful open earlier — Paris Croissant and a Coffee Bean in Terminal 2 at 05:00, two fourth-floor places at 05:30 — but if you are planning around it, six is the number to use.
Can transfer passengers use the basement food court?
No. The transport centre basement is landside. If you have not cleared immigration you cannot get down there, and no amount of time in your connection changes that. Use the airside floors instead.
Is there anywhere to eat after midnight at Incheon Airport?
Yes, 32 outlets by the airport’s own listing, but they are concentrated. Airside Terminal 2 has ten including several Korean restaurants; airside Terminal 1 has four and all four are chains. Landside is mostly burgers and coffee.
Where is the food in Terminal 1?
Three places, depending on where you are standing. Landside, the basement at the transport centre and the third-floor check-in level. Airside, the third and fourth floors — the fourth floor near gate 30 is the Korean cluster. And if your gate is a 100-number, your food is in the Concourse, not in Terminal 1 at all.
Are these hours reliable?
They are the airport’s own published hours, read on 14 September 2026. Individual units change without the directory catching up, and the round-the-clock listings are the ones most likely to drift. If your plan depends on one specific place at one specific hour, treat this as the shortlist and confirm on the day.
Live reference: open the official Incheon Airport food directory, select the terminal and check the outlet’s location, hours and contact details. Link checked 5 October 2026. The 176-outlet count and 32 round-the-clock listings on this page remain the 14 September collection; they were not all rechecked for this update.
