Incheon Airport Olive Young: Both Stores Are Outside Security

Incheon Airport has two Olive Young stores, both in the basement of the public area and open 06:00 to 22:00. Transfer passengers who stay airside cannot reach them.

The short answer: the two Olive Young branches recorded in the September airport directory are in the public B1 areas, outside security. If you stay airside, these are not transfer-shopping options. If you are entering Korea anyway, use the branch in your own terminal and keep enough time for departure formalities; do not clear immigration just on the assumption that shopping will fit.

The part that catches people is the hours. Both shops open at 06:00 and close at 22:00, every day. A lot of long-haul connections land at Incheon after eleven at night, and at that hour there is nothing to walk to.

Incheon International Airport facility directory, checked 14 September 2026. Google’s listings give the same hours for both.

The 14 September directory check returned two Olive Young entries, both public-side. That snapshot does not establish future branch openings or closures. Pins if you want to see the position on a map: 올리브영 인천공항제1여객터미널점 and 올리브영 인천공항제2여객터미널점. For directions and same-day hours, Naver Map is the one that works in Korea.

Can you get to Olive Young without entering Korea?

No, and the airport’s own filing makes it plain. Shops at Incheon are sorted into two categories. Olive Young sits under general shopping, 일반쇼핑, which is the public side of the building — the side anyone can walk into from the car park, and the side an arriving passenger only reaches after clearing immigration. The duty-free shops are listed separately, under 면세점쇼핑, on the third floor inside the secure area.

So this is not really a question about a cosmetics shop. It is the same question as every other outing here: are you going through immigration or not. The answer depends on your passport and your connection, and whether you can leave Incheon Airport on a layover at all is worth settling before you plan anything around the basement.

Does your layover actually allow it?

Your situationCan you use Olive Young?
Connecting airside, never entering KoreaNo. The duty-free floor is your only option.
Clearing immigration, out between 06:00 and 22:00Yes. Basement of your own terminal.
Landing after 22:00No. Shut until 06:00.
Departing on an early morning flightOnly if you are at the airport at six and shop before you go through security.

If your flight lands late and leaves early, this is one of the things that quietly drops off the list. What is and is not open in the middle of the night is covered in the overnight guide, which plans around train hours and a taxi return.

What is the alternative if you are staying airside?

Cosmetics are not hard to find past security. The airport lists Fan Fan Duty Free, 판판면세점, at four locations on the third floor — near gates 12 and 41 in Terminal 1, and near gates 224 and 274 in Terminal 2 — open 06:30 to 21:30, with cosmetics named first among their main lines. Thirty-nine airport shops in total list 화장품 as a main product, so you are not short of counters.

What we will not tell you is which is cheaper. We have not compared a basket across both, and they are not stocking the same shelves anyway. The duty-free listing mixes cosmetics in with packaged food, fashion, souvenirs and electronics; the Olive Young listing is beauty and health and nothing else. Anyone stating flatly that one beats the other has not checked either.

Is it duty-free, and can you claim the tax back?

It is not duty-free. It is an ordinary branch of a high-street chain that happens to be under an airport, and the price on the shelf is the price you pay.

Ask the retailer which tax-refund process applies to your purchase and keep the receipt and goods accessible until any required checks are complete. The Terminal 1 refund walkthrough distinguishes customs validation from payout; do not assume every shop or purchase uses the same route.

What do the airport branches actually stock?

The directory lists both as carrying cosmetics, hair and body care, health products, fragrance and beauty tools. The Terminal 2 branch adds travel goods to its list, which is the only difference on paper between the two.

Set your expectations to airport size. These are single units in a basement concourse rather than a flagship, so if you are after one specific line the sensible plan is to buy it in the city and treat the airport branch as the thing that saves a forgotten item.

If what you actually want is small edible things to take home rather than skincare, the convenience-store snack list is a better shopping trip, and it starts with a ₩4,900 bag of fried fish crisps.

Should you cross terminals for it?

No. Both terminals have one, the hours are identical and the location within the building is the same, so there is nothing to gain. The free shuttle between the two takes about twenty minutes each way, which is forty minutes spent arriving at the same shop. What else changes between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 is a longer story, and it matters for trains and taxis far more than it does for shopping.

Where do you put your suitcase while you shop?

Storage is not always on the shopping floor. T1 has a B1 ZIMCARRY counter as well as 3F counters; T2 Hanjin is on 3F. Check your terminal’s storage location, price and collection hours before making a separate bag detour.

Common questions

Is there an Olive Young inside the departure area at Incheon?

Not according to the airport’s facility directory, which returns two Olive Young entries and puts both of them in the public basement. If you are past security, you are looking at duty-free counters instead.

What time does Olive Young open at Incheon Airport?

06:00, and it closes at 22:00. Both branches, seven days a week, according to both the airport directory and Google’s listing. Hours at a single unit can change without either source catching up, so check on the day if your plan depends on the last hour.

Which floor is it on?

The recorded locations are in the public B1 areas. Use the airport directory for the branch in your own terminal; do not assume your bus stand, storage counter and shop share the same floor.

Is it cheaper than buying in Seoul?

We have not price-checked a basket against a city branch, so we are not going to claim either way. What is true is that it is the same retailer under the same sign, not an airport-only concept with its own pricing, and it is not duty-free.

Source scope, 5 October 2026: the official shopping directory still lists the T1 Olive Young in public B1, 06:00–22:00. The T2 branch details and other store counts above retain the 14 September check date; T2’s individual listing, product stock and prices were not reverified today. Select your terminal in the directory and confirm same-day hours before relying on this stop.
