The short answer: for a passenger car, Incheon Airport’s published daily cap is ₩24,000 in short-term parking and ₩9,000 in long-term parking. Choose short-term for terminal proximity, not because a stay of a few hours makes it cheaper. Reserved parking is a separate booked area, not permission to park in any long-term space.
My Korean guide started with two different local errands: seeing family off and leaving the car while travelling. The price difference matters, but the destination and transfer to the terminal matter too. Airport rates were rechecked on September 19, 2026; examples below are undiscounted passenger-car calculations, not live availability.
How do the basic prices compare?
| Lot | Published rate | Daily cap |
|---|---|---|
| Short-term | ₩1,200 for first 30 min; ₩600 per additional 15 min | ₩24,000 |
| Long-term | ₩1,000 per hour | ₩9,000 |
| Reserved | ₩1,000 per hour | ₩9,000 |
At the listed rate, four hours in short-term parking is ₩9,600, compared with ₩4,000 for four hours long-term. The first figure already exceeds the entire long-term daily cap, but that does not mean long-term charges ₩9,000 for a four-hour visit. Compare equal durations, not a short-term hourly bill with an unnecessary full-day charge.
For a full 24 hours the difference is ₩15,000. Three complete 24-hour periods at the stated daily caps work out to ₩72,000 short-term or ₩27,000 long-term before discounts. For a trip with partial days, use the airport’s parking calculator with your actual entry and exit times.
What convenience are you paying for in short-term parking?
Terminal proximity is the reason to pay the higher rate. A family pickup, heavy luggage or a tight handover can make a nearby space useful. For a car left during a flight, the airport recommends long-term parking for stays over a day. Budget time to reach the terminal rather than arriving at the car-park entrance at your check-in deadline.
Do not assume the same walking or shuttle arrangement at both terminals. Confirm the terminal first, then the relevant lot and shuttle stop. Our airline terminal guide helps with the first decision; this parking guide does not add an invented door-to-gate travel allowance.
What does a reserved space change?
The Korean guide identifies T1 reserved parking as P5, opposite Grand Hyatt, at 운서동 2851-76; T2 reserved parking is at 운서동 3233-51. Enter the lot named in the reservation. Booking P5 and then parking in a regular lot does not fulfil the reserved booking.
The reservation system uses a separate ₩10,000 deposit, not a prepayment of the parking fee. The source explains a four-hour permitted window on either side of the booked entry time, with deposit penalties for late cancellation or no-show. Read the current confirmation before paying: going to the wrong lot can leave a valid-looking reservation unused.
For an overnight arrival, read the reservation notice carefully: the checked T1 notice says its shuttle does not run between 00:00 and 05:00 and describes an approximately 30-minute walk instead. A cheap reserved space is not automatically the convenient choice for that arrival time. Reserved lots also require card payment; the notice excludes cash and Hi-pass.
Parking charges are based on actual entry and exit. The source also warns that driving out completes the booking: it is not a day pass for repeated entry. Keep the confirmation and check the operator’s cancellation rules instead of treating an unused deposit as automatically refundable.
Can residents or families get a discount?
The Korean source and airport rate guide list eligibility-based discounts, not a general Yeongjong-resident discount. Examples include qualifying light cars, disability/veteran categories, registered multi-child families, and eligible low-emission vehicles. Multiple qualifications do not mean adding the percentages together.
If an expected automatic discount fails, keep the parking receipt and check the airport’s post-payment discount procedure. The guide describes a 30-day application window. Do not assume a staff member at the exit can correct every missing registration or accept an unsupported document on the spot.
Frequently asked questions
Is reserved parking the same as valet parking? No. Reserved parking books a self-parking area. Valet is a separate service with a fee in addition to parking.
Is there a local-resident airport parking discount? The checked guidance does not list one. Bridge toll support is a different programme and does not establish airport-parking eligibility.
Where can I check the lot before driving over? The airport website shows short- and long-term parking availability by terminal. Reserved-space availability is checked in the booking system, not inferred from those regular-lot counts.
