The Incheon Jajangmyeon Festival brings free noodle tastings, live music and Chinatown street celebrations to Incheon on October 3–4, 2026. Head to Hangmidan-gil for the 1pm or 3pm tasting sessions, then stay for the evening stage. Saturday adds a chef’s cooking show and activities at Sangsang Platform; Sunday features a different restaurant line-up.
Schedule guide updated October 3, 2026. All times are Korea Standard Time. This is an event guide, not a first-hand report from the festival.
When and where is the Incheon Jajangmyeon Festival?
The main festival street is 항미단길 (Hangmidan-gil), on 제물량로 between the Incheon Station intersection and the Korea–China Cultural Center roundabout. This is the Chinatown and old-port area of mainland Incheon. Search 인천역 for the station, not Incheon Airport.
| Venue | Saturday, October 3 | Sunday, October 4 |
|---|---|---|
| Hangmidan-gil / 항미단길 | 1pm–8pm | 1pm–8pm |
| Sangsang Platform / 상상플랫폼 | 11am–9pm | No festival programme listed |
| Free jajangmyeon tasting | 1pm and 3pm | 1pm and 3pm |
| Main-stage evening performances | 6:30pm–8pm | 6:30pm–8pm |
How do the free jajangmyeon tastings work?
The tasting programme is called 인천 짜장로드 (Incheon Jajang Road). Sessions start at 1pm and 3pm on both days, with an announced scale of 2,000 bowls per day across the sessions—not 2,000 bowls at each session. Tastings are free and first come, first served. Choose your day by the participating restaurants as well as your travel dates.
October 3: Gonghwachun (공화춘), Moon China (문차이나) and Xin Chai (신차이).
October 4: Yeongyeong (연경) and Mandabok (만다복).
Arriving before your preferred session gives you time to find the tasting queue. A published start time is not a reserved serving: the daily allocation is limited. The noodle tastings are the free-food programme; do not assume every snack stall or nearby restaurant is free.
What else can you see on October 3 and 4?
Saturday’s extra stop is Sangsang Platform. Its daytime programme includes noodle-making and clay-jajangmyeon activities, with family-oriented play and a jajangmyeon history display. On the main festival programme, chef Park Eun-young’s live cooking show is scheduled for 4pm. The evening stage features Jang Min-ho, Yook Joong-wan Band and DJ HIK.
At 8pm on Saturday, Sangsang Platform hosts a candlelight classical concert, with LED candles rather than an outdoor food-stall setting. The main-stage programme also runs until 8pm, so choose where you want to finish the evening rather than assuming you can see both programmes in full.
Sunday’s evening line-up includes Huh Gak, Kimneuk Band, Mureob and violinist Jang Han-saem. The hand-pulled noodle competition is listed at 2pm on both days. Lion and dragon dance parades also move through the festival and Chinatown area, with six appearances across the weekend.
Which day should you choose?
For food plus a fuller day of activities, choose Saturday. Start at Sangsang Platform after its 11am opening, then head to Hangmidan-gil for a tasting session. The 2pm noodle competition and 4pm cooking show give you afternoon anchors before the evening music. This is a suggested sequence based on the programme, not a timed walking itinerary.
For Yeongyeong or Mandabok, choose Sunday. Build the afternoon around the 1pm or 3pm tasting, explore Chinatown between events, and stay for the 6:30pm stage if you want live music. Sunday is still a festival day; it simply does not include Saturday’s Sangsang Platform programme.
How do you get there, and which road is closed?
The straightforward rail destination is Incheon Station (인천역) on Seoul Subway Line 1. From the station area, walk toward Chinatown and Hangmidan-gil. Enter 항미단길 or 상상플랫폼 in Naver Map for the venue you want first. Save the Korean names before leaving your accommodation.
Vehicle access between the Incheon Station intersection and the Korea–China Cultural Center roundabout is restricted October 1–5, covering preparation and dismantling as well as the event. Rail is a practical choice for this visit; if using a taxi, choose a drop-off outside the closed section with the driver.
If you are starting at Incheon Airport, plan this as a mainland outing rather than an airport-neighbourhood stop. For a flight connection, use the airport exit and return-time guide and check terminal luggage storage before committing to a festival visit.
What should you know before going?
Is this a free festival? General admission is listed as free, and the scheduled jajangmyeon tastings are free while the allocation lasts. Food purchases outside that programme are separate.
Can you join the stamp tour? The Korean guide describes an Incheon e-ji app tour: collect stamps at two of five designated attractions plus the Hangmidan-gil festival site for a Chinatown jajangmyeon meal kit, limited to 300 sets. Ask the event staff how to participate before building your visit around the reward; app access and the remaining allocation are separate from festival admission.
Does the festival continue after October 4? The announced festival dates are October 3–4, 2026. The October 5 road restriction is not an extra festival day.
